I'm thrilled to announce that
Lot
68 Forest Creek Road in the Daintree Rainforest will be
protected forever.
When Lot 68 was listed for
sale earlier this year, it could easily have been purchased for
housing development. That's why I acted quickly—signing a contract,
paying a deposit, and launching a $250,000 fundraising campaign.
Thanks to incredible
supporters from around the world, we've reached our goal and secured
this high-biodiversity rainforest block.

Why this
matters
This property provides
critical habitat for endangered Southern Cassowaries, Bennett's
Tree-kangaroos, Spectacled Flying-foxes, and many more species. It
also forms part of a vital wildlife corridor stretching from the
Daintree River to Thornton Peak, the third highest mountain in
Queensland at 1,374m.
Now that Lot 68 is secured,
rehabilitation will occur to remove exotic plants and restore an area
of rainforest cleared in the past. Once that has been completed the
property will be added to the Pathway to Protection process and
be assessed for inclusion in the Daintree National Park (CYPAL).
Thanks to thousands of
generous donors 35 Daintree Rainforest properties have now been
purchased for conservation. See them all here.

Thank you - Daintree's Lot 68 saved for the
Bennett's Tree-kangaroo.
The work
continues
This is an incredible
conservation win—but it is estimated that over 150 freehold blocks
remain in the Daintree. With continued support, we can secure more
land, restore more rainforest, and protect this ancient ecosystem for
generations to come.
Our next challenge is
extraordinary. Lot 2 isn't just another property — it's the Daintree's
Botanical Ark, home to 233 native plant species including 9 Threatened
species and others found almost nowhere else on Earth. Among them: the
endangered Giant Climbing Pandanus, the incredibly rare Noah's
Corduroy Tamarind (identified as a new species only in 2005), and
evolutionary treasures like China Camp Laurel sustained by Southern
Cassowaries.
To make this vision a
reality, we need $960,000 to purchase, protect and
regenerate this Botanical Ark.
Join us in protecting more
rainforest in 2025.
